Method Description: | The principle of "equal material in fullness (translation from German)" allows all children to make basic experiments in mathematics by being active themselves. Baskets filled with different materials are available: buttons, pliers, stones, cubes, pearls, marbles, shells, ... In addition, there are breaks (it also works with empty chocolate ballots or empty egg boxes). This invites the children to arrange, sort, model and row. Afterwards, we discuss in group what is going and what is not going (to define the criteria). Thus, by means of measurements and comparisons, the children learn the ratio to quantities and numbers. All children can approach this material, each in their own way, concentrated alone or in exchange with the group |
