Project Overview

Overview

Early Inclusion is a European project within the frame of Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships. From 1.10.2015 until 30.3.2018 the project focuses on increased knowledge and shared methods concerning inclusion for pre-school children who have a disability or are at risk of becoming disabled.

Background

The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities ratified by most European countries foresees an inclusive education for all. Within this context most European countries have expressed their political will to implement the inclusive philosophies and concepts at all levels of policy and services related to issues for persons with disability (see also Europe 2020: The European Union strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth; EU Disability Strategy 2010-2020).

However a significant lack of methodologies and sharing knowledge in this field can be observed.

Professionals report high need for
a) INFORMATION,
b) TRAINING and
c) CONCRETE RESOURCES.

Goals

The project aims to transfer:

a) INFORMATION AND UNDERSTANDING: What do children with disabilities need and how can professionals support them in mainstream education and youth work in order to avoid later exclusion or failure.

b) CONCRETE METHOLOGIES by P2P (exchange of perceived good everyday practice by professionals to facilitate concrete inclusive METHODS through sharing of relevant experience.

c) COMPETENCE ASSESSMENT OF INFORMAL ON THE JOB LEARNING concerning inclusion
